This may be a little long but I want to tell you about this weekend and the Festival of the Fae.
This weekend was by far our best and worst experience as a vendor. But let me explain why that is. First off I was injured at work so I was very limited in my mobility. Which meant I had to rely on my girls and wife to carry and put up everything. My daughter did amazing packing the truck and getting everything in. We were allowed on site Friday to see where we would be and set our tent up if we wanted. We knew what the weather was forecasted to be and continued to monitor it but we wanted to try our best. Saturday we get up get ready and head to the event super early. We get things all set. So far things are windy but not bad. Well we end up having a huge gust of wind come and pick up our tent. It bent in 3 places and ripped the fabric. This was after we had just put the final touches on the booth. Thankfully there were so many people who came to our rescue. They helped gather the product and supplies that went everywhere, got the tent broken down. Everything. Then they told us if we wanted to leave they understood. We decided to stick it out. We made do with what we had and actually enjoyed ourselves. The event staff kept checking on us and making sure we were ok. Even walking a few customers to us and recommending us. We got wet. We got cold but we stuck it out and made sales. We packed up for the night and took everything. With us so we could dry it off and check for any more damage. Then we woke up Sunday to a beautiful day. We go and set things up again designed that we have not tent and it’s gonna be hot and we are going to be burnt. But no. The staff found a tent for us to use and made sure it got set just how we needed it. Then they continued to check with us throughout the day. Making sure we had water. Had a chance for a break and eat. They truly were so amazing. And when I say staff I mean everyone from the owner to organizer to day staff.
We had to pivot on several things but it worked out. And yes it was bad because we lost our tent and some things were damaged. But it was also amazing because of the community that came together to help us.
We can’t wait for our next event with them and for this to grow each time.
