El Lissitzky’s Proun (Schizzo), c. 1922–1923, exemplifies the artist’s approach to the Russian avant-garde. Through intersecting geometric forms and a restrained palette of blue, white, and gray, Lissitzky transforms the two-dimensional surface into a dynamic exploration of space, movement, and perspective.

The Proun series bridged painting, architecture, and design, helping establish a new visual language that would influence modern art and design for generations.

Recently exhibited in Looking for Lissitzky at Museo Villa dei Cedri in Switzerland, this remarkable work comes to auction as part of Freeman’s Impressionist and Modern Art sale.

Dated 1668–1669, this rare Plymouth Colony deed bears the signature of John Alden, one of the original Mayflower passengers and, at the time of his death in 1687, the last surviving male passenger of the Mayflower.

The document records a land conveyance by Quechataset, Sachem of Manomet, to Richard Bourne of Sandwich, Massachusetts. Bearing Quechataset’s mark and seal, witness signatures, and Alden’s handwritten certification acknowledging the deed, it offers a compelling primary-source account of landholding, negotiation, and exchange between Indigenous communities and English settlers on Cape Cod.

An exceptional artifact of early American history, this document brings together the lives of a Mayflower passenger, a Native sachem, and a prominent figure in the Indigenous community at Mashpee.
