I've been sitting in the grocery store parking lot for ten full minutes because my seat is warm and I'm enjoying it too much to leave. In order to optimize this enjoyable-but-squandered time--here, I will show you some lovely autumnal jewelry. A sister pair of noreena jasper and sterling silver. ⭐️

First of all, the messages and DMs I got yesterday reveal exactly what I think we all quietly suspect to be true: virtually ALL of us are a little sick of the stupid dances and machinations of entities pulling us away from authenticity and wholeness. This is heartening, and a good reminder: it's healthy to feel uneasy in an unhealthy system. It means we're still connected to our inner knowing. No answers just yet, but score one for keeping our embers glowing.

Secondly, here's some noreena jasper in a craggly, enchanted setting with a synth opal doing some excellent alchemy. She's listed in the shop.

And thirdly, I've taken up the Irish tin whistle in yet another hedge against the torpor and unimaginative muck this era seems to be peddling. My neighbors continue to delight in my efforts. I will soon be available to hire for jigs and Celine Dion singalongs. More at eleven. ⭐️

I set the Ten Air profile to Personal this weekend, instead of Creator, and I have no idea what the fallout will be.

I'm creating the best work of my life and I'm selling less of it than I ever have. And a lot of it, pure and simple, is me purposefully sidelining myself. I'm already pretty spectacularly shuttered for reach and engagement by not dancing properly to the algorithmic beat. It's not a surprise, the announcement that the m*ta ai will unabashedly snake in and scrape every connected word, photo, link and message from professional accounts across every device and platform used for access--in truth I think this trap's already been sprung--but I think that rather than being inured to it, it's actually finally bent me too far to want to spring back. This is, simply put, just absurd.

I'm trying to genuinely explore how to be present in my world and also your world, without being reliant on tech oligarchs whose toll for the privilege of platforming appears to be breaching the hull of reason. I'd like to share the beauty I make, and I'd like you to know it's there to collect. It just seems like I can either choose integrity or convenience.

If anyone knows a Third Way, or you’ve been on this journey too... I'm all ears. 💗

Work is flowing quietly but slowly in the background as we prepare to celebrate an upcoming wedding in the family! I will have details for you in my next post, however, of two wonderful in-person shows coming up where I will have plenty of new work that time just hasn't allowed me to catch you up on here. Friends, thank you for your protectiveness. I appreciate your oversight, and I know defensiveness comes from an affection that I'm genuinely honored to have earned.

That said, as long as there are artists, there will always be folks whose styles and designs blur against the edges of others' styles and designs. Particularly in the metals world, there are many of us whose vibe carries echoes of things we've been exposed to along the way. I know that I have been influenced by other smiths in different eras of my work, and I also know that I've been personally horrified *more than once* to see how closely a design of mine mirrored another that turned out to have already been out in the world. I trust that most folks and their intentions here are good.

For some things, there will just be overlap. I did not invent totems, or asymmetry, or texture; and though there are some designs and elements I'm very fond of thinking I did "birth," I have no illusion that someone, somewhere in time, has not or will not stumble near similar inspiration. I am proud to execute my work carefully, with quality and with love, and in the company of other artists even as I carve out my little unique niche among them.

Anyway. I've said this before, but a recent uptick in messages hints it's time for me to say it lovingly again. There's room for us all, the world is vast. I'm happy to be a part of yours. 🥰

Also, this here is a moss kyanite whose inclusions I'm not sure you can see clearly but are a lovely rusty red and I find that to be so special. 14/20 gold bezel, on a deeply-etched silver ginkgo backdrop.

Also x2, THANK you for dropping your ring sizes recently! That really helped me to recalibrate my understanding of how you're wearing them. I'm excited to get some out to you. ⭐️

Here is a pure silver pendant celebrating The Little Prince, a book that's both enchanted and vexed me since I was a child, and particularly the fox, who taught that "what is essential is invisible to the eye."

There is a small batch of small sunstones, meticulously selected at a recent gem show for having more rare rainbowy inner trailings, burning a hole on my benchtop in their need to become rings.

I've been churning out bespoke rings behind the scenes, like this sweet wedding set, but of course they're sized--it's been a minute since a public ring drop around here where I have to give my best guess at what might generally fit.

Below will you drop me your ring size and on which finger you most prefer to wear rings? Even if you're not in the market at the moment, it'd be useful to get a gauge. I appreciate it! (If you don't know your size, that's useful info too... I wonder how many folks don't.)

I'll try to get some clips of these sunstones in Stories. They're beauts. ⭐️
