I am one of those positive, impulsive people! Yes, when I get an idea, or receive an inkling of a thought, or creative plan, I move on it quickly. I realize many of my readers may think this is too rash. It has, however, worked well for me.
Today, when I was calling quite a likeable customer, her husband engaged me for a few minutes about his persoal Bible study today. He was readying Psalm 27 and shared the goodness of the Lord with me.
Being the curious person that I am, I hit the brake from what I was doing and did a little bit of digging into this beautiful portion of God's Word. Allow me to give you a personal challenge to stop and read the entire Psalm 27 for yourself. I am only going to highlight portions of it.
Psalm 27:1 KJV - A Psalm of David opens up with this,
"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
If you continue to verses 4-5,
"One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he hall hide me in his pavilion: In the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock
Next, verse 10. "When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take me up."
Finally, verses 13 and 14
"I had fainted, Unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
As I consider the number of abused, battered women and men, the homeless, desititute and forsaken orphans and widows/widowers it's too much for my heart. Yet, my personal experience reminds me that God is ready to mend, repair, restore those that are broken.
The Lord is the Light, always ready to guide those that call on Him. He is the Savior, where we can safely live and dwell. Even when others give up on us, He does not!
God is so good to even the most faintest heart. With fear and while your knees may be shaking, ask the Lord to help you. Even with the smallest speck of courage, He will strengthen you to carry on.
Allow the Lord to grab my attention and yours, as believers. May the Holy Spirit of God move in us with His compassion, love and mercy to simply be conduits of His arms and feet. Let's be impulsive tools for Jesus, as we, with discernment, go and tackle what concerns and breaks His heart.
Thanks Bro. Eddie for inspiring m to write on Psalm 27 today. I also appreciate the steadfastness of you and your wife's walk with the Lord.
