What an unusual but quintessential early 1900s beauty. And in such wonderful condition for its age.
I’ve learned recently firsthand that it is hard to find opals like this anymore. The Australian mines that once provided the world’s opals has become depleted and these sorts of stones command a high price.
Ethiopian opal can also be beautiful but it is a clear stone and a totally different look than this opaque and saturated play-of-color.
Something about the double pearl halo reminds me of Georgian elaborate hairdos. This thing has STYLE.

It’s just an unusual beast! Would be a great way to celebrate 2 October birthdays, an October and a June (Pearl), or for anyone who loves beautiful things.
It should be treated with care as Pearl and Opal are the two most sensitive of all of the gems, but it is incredibly easy to wear and super low profile and lightweight.

Oh Deco Grandeur, how you never get old. The lines, the angles, the pleasing shapes. I found this ring a few years ago and immediately bought it even tho it was not cheap. I knew I couldn’t leave without it.

I can’t tell you how rarely I find perfect deco things. So rare, that I’ve kept this ring for probably 6 years, waiting waiting for a better ring to take its place. It never happened!
But now I have a baby and the reality of momming in this country is that you have to learn to live a little more spare in every other way. Im also embracing an era of letting things flow instead of holding so tightly. Anyone feel me there?

Such a showstopper. To find natural rubies of this size and color is just awesome. I have never had a ruby band this good.
Usually these would cost closer to $4k, but I got a great deal and this beauty has some wear to the stones, commensurate with age, which makes it so much more affordable! Less than half ❣️.

But I’m REALLY posting bc my good jewelry friend pointed out that we, as in all of us jewelry instagrammers, are getting about 1/4 of the views we usually get. I’m getting sometimes 1/10th the views I used to. ONE TENTH! That is wild, and I didn’t even notice until she pointed it out haha!

Absolute sapphire and diamond perfection. Every time I watch the video of this ring I get little chills.
1920s diamond bombé covered in 22 rose cut diamonds, with a 1.5 carat vintage sapphire center, no heat, and amazing color. It is special to find these stones that are dark and bright. Deep but so so lively (am I talking about me here??). These kinds of twinkling vintage rings just can’t be beat and I find less and less of - this particular combo feels like the stars and early evening sky. Sapphire and diamonds are pretty much the bees knees of vintage combos.

Show stopping natural emerald, ruby, and rose cut diamond antique French double snake ring. I was considering selling this ring a year ago from my personal collection, but thought twice about it after it started being my daily wear. French hallmark, numbered (often see this on pieces from major jewelry houses), and just spectacular. I so so rarely see antique emeralds this bright. The hand detailing along the snake heads, the curly handmade tails on each side, the banded shank. It’s just perfection.
A good customer asked for a navette, and had seen a video of this in my story highlights, and after some soul searching, I decided to give her up. Might’ve shed a tear.

The Victorians adored their insect symbolism. The dragonfly has fascinated human for centuries, with its ability to traverse water, air, and land with ease. For many cultures, the dragonfly represented resilience and change, as the insect could handle all environments with ease. The symbol modeled embracing change, rather than fearing it.

There is something so enchanting about a bejeweled insect, this early 1900s gem has bright green demantoid garnets adorning its wings, and a body of opal. The 18k gold is bright and deep and buttery. And the whole piece is finished so finely, from the antennas to the texture on the wings.

Why did the French make the best jewelry? As a previous sociologist I am curious how they developed as the most sophisticated in fashion, food, and jewelry. And boy is it true. French jewelry is a minimum of 18k, is always impeccable, and when you find an original piece of French Belle Epoque or Deco, you don’t pass that up! Those eras are when the French were excelling, arguably making the most important jewelry in the world.

This is an all Deci original, handmade, platinum, lab sapphire and diamond masterpiece. And it is a cushion cluster halo, such a very unusual shape. #
The diamonds are chunky with tiny tables and sooo enchanting, the sapphires are the perfect deep and bright color. It sits low, and is incredibly easy to wear. For everyone asking for low profile, this is it.

But even more than all of that, it is just special. Literally when I first saw it, I gasped, and said I have to have that. The proportions, the glitter, the colors, the artistry…it all comes together.
This would make a killer engagement ring, or cocktail ring for those of us so lucky!

The center OEC diamond is approximately .37 carat and is surrounded by 9 Old Mine Cut diamonds totaling approximately .38 carat for a total diamond weight of .75 carat. All are highly graded diamonds, as of course the French would do. The face measures 13.5mmx13.8mm.
The handmade scrollwork in the gallery of the ring is the cherry on top of just an exquisite piece.
