I was born and raised in sunny Southern California, growing up around nature and the beautiful surrounding mountains. I spent most of my childhood summers in a rustic mountain cabin built by my family in the 1920's near Lake Arrowhead, CA. Surrounded by pine trees, streams, and wildlife, I was
influenced at a young age to be attracted to Mother Nature's simple treasures. As a young girl, I was always drawn to animals of all kinds, befriending any creature that crossed my path. I loved to collect Stellar Jay feathers that I would find, and by the time I was in my late teens I had hundreds in my collection. Unfortunately, due to a forest fire, this beautiful place burned down, taking with it a small part of my heart. I remember it fondly and think of it often, hoping to rebuild one day. This is where the inspiration for my shop name and logo came from, Sterling Feather Studio. A part of my heart and soul is reflected in the idea behind the image. After deciding to dedicate my studies into Veterinary Medicine, I became a Veterinary Technician and began my career taking care of animals. Due to the stressful atmosphere dealing in medicine, I quickly realized I needed an outlet to express myself. My grandparents were very captivated by Native American culture and jewelry, and it was always an interest of mine. I decided to give silversmithing a try and almost immediately realized I had un underlying passion for it. Silversmithing became very empowering and therapeutic for me as a hobby in my spare time. When I first started my silversmithing journey, I had a small setup on my dinning room table where I worked in my spare time on the weekends. Now, I am a stay-at-home mom to identical twin daughters and a bunch of rescue animals. I put my heart into each piece that I make, and I am finding myself more and more with every design.
