Lil Bits of Havek This is Lay Low Farm's Mousery Page. Our mice come in various colors, we breed for health and temperament first, then color, coats, and markings secondary.

Each generation is a step closer to certain goal sets for each line. This will change with each new line added, continued and retired. Various Tan Lines (Doves, Blues, Champagne, Silver and Black)

Yesterday we had our first litter this year born! Harmony x Thallium there is 12 cute little babies born.
Chrysanthemum will be due to pop in a few days and she also was bred to Thallium.
Thallium is an amazing buck who takes after his daddy in that retrospect which was Arsenic, the sweetest buck we have owned for breeding since we have had some amazing boys here that we kept as pets.

I’m grateful we do have family that loves and gets excited seeing the rats so they do get a lot of one on one. Keeping it smaller scale makes it easier for me to spend quality time with each rat and make sure their needs and enrichment is being met, since I put a lot of my time also into the farm and my other job.

Hey everyone! We are back for the new year! Also a tad stressed considering I couldn’t find my page for awhile come to find out it was deactivated it’s back now lol.

I will be breeding rats with the intent of getting back into mice. I love mice and everything but I let the last of my mice age out.

So for rattery part purposes I will be working on the tabby gene, to better the genetics I have along with a Harley carrier line I have and have been working with since I started breeding I did some fixing and still working on this line cause while it’s a WIP, this specific line I don’t want leaving till I’m certain.

As of this moment the mousery side is still on hiatus till further notice.

Hello everyone! While I have been slowly getting back into the thick of things, I’m currently taking another breather from breeding mice, slowing down in breeding rats only because their room is currently in the middle of an upgrade. Between fixing the electrical to removing and moving around bins, sockets, and my desk ontop of deciding on paint colors as well and a new door for the room.

They hace all been put in another room in my house while all that happens so I do not currently have any available mice or rats as I’m doing hold backs to see who will continue to be the next beat fit for the lines I’m working on.

I am a quality of quantity breeder and while I occasionally have rats or mice available to the public for pet homes. I mostly breed to help out other breeders improve their lines. I will be doing a whole new change to the page where the adoption application process will change and I will revamp the whole application in general.

So it’s been a while I was on a social media hiatus due to many family issues. We had the passing of my mother in law, who lived with us. It was a sudden passing so we were dealing with a lot of that and what comes with that.

She was a big fan of the rodentry and while I had considering temporarily closing the doors to this and the farm. It isn’t something I could do this is a hobby built on passion and love working towards producing good temperaments and healthy rodents.

With that being said I’m back on track.
We are finally breeding mice again.
Have our first litter of the year in mice and they are black tans 🖤💛

Our first rat litter of the year is a litter of tabbies. It’s a mix of tabbies, black, and Siamese. ❤️

The litters won’t be available to the public.
I do have other pairings planned for both mice and rats so I’m overly excited.

The application will be revised tonight. When or if an application is filled please reach out to me via messenger and let me know. I will be posting available rats soon. As I have quite a few young males who will be available with possible females.

I do have older females who can find new pet homes too.

So it’s been a tad quiet here. We have had issues with the mouse side of things, many of the mice I have gotten I’ve allowed their lines to age out and retire the lines. Many of the new mice I have gotten ended up being infertile. So we haven’t had litters in awhile.

There is plans to bring in new mice from other breeders on a slow intake. I do thankfully still have boys. This gives me time to decide on what I want to have and raise in the sense of mice.

So I will be updating the adoption application to only be for rats for now. I will be taking a year to learn much of the new lines being introduced to my current ones I only have males for since I still want to release good temperament mice and healthy mice to the public.
