Meet APD Monday!

Today, we are putting the spotlight on Rachel Conroy!

Rachel Conroy started in our records department in 2018 and now currently holds the position of Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Chief. One of her main roles is to oversee the department budget. Rachel previously worked at the Abington District Court where she developed a passion for service. When asked why she chose to work at the Abington Township Police Department, she stated she saw the camaraderie and family-like atmosphere and knew that’s where she wanted to be.

Fun fact: Her favorite band is Incubus!

😞😞😞😞 RIP

We are saddened to inform you of the death of Police Officer Zachary Cottongim of the Louisville Metro Police Department in Kentucky.

End of Watch: Saturday, December 18, 2021

While attending to an abandoned vehicle, Officer Cottongim was struck and killed by an automobile.

Officer Cottongim was standing on the side of the interstate when he was struck by a passing vehicle. He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officer Cottongim is survived by his wife and two children. He had served with the Louisville Metro Police Department for seven years.
