A Thousand Hands Could Touch Me

A thousand hands could touch me
And I’d know which one is yours.

It is the touch of love
That pours
Across my soul
Like some velvet glove
That gathers all my scattered pieces
Into a long sought whole.

And my heart soars.

It is the touch of love so true
It breathes a sense of calm,

And bathes me with a healing balm
That only comes from you.

Be the Muse

Be the ears
In my forest

Hear my clear
Persistent call

Catch all my stammerings,
To witness all the clammerings
Of clumsiness
My Darkness stutters through.

Be the Muse
Who pushes me
To places in the Light,
Into spaces I had always thought
I had no right to go.

Let your footprints
Leave no traces of remorse
As you nonchalantly stroll
Across my naked Soul.

Be the voice I knew
Was always there.
Be the Forest Sprite
In the darkness of the night
Who hears

Wedding Rings - Shouldn’t your rings be as unique as your relationship? 💍

Pardon my cynicism… I’ve been around long enough to see the cycles of DeBeers and their control over the tastes of the commercial diamond jewelry industry from Tiffany’s to Kay’s. It really doesn’t matter. You can either celebrate the occasion with a store-front solution or a piece of jewelry as uniquely meaningful as your occasion.

Fingerprints of Love...

What more meaningfully personal gift of love and commitment for a partner or spouse than your own fingerprint in gold or silver?
Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s when I founded and owned Joel Bagnal Goldsmiths in Wellesley and Concord, Massachusetts, we were the first shop of which I was aware to use soft wax to make jewelry (pendants, rings, bracelets) with finger or thumb print impressions.

In some ways it’s the most personal thing we do. Over the years we have marked weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or simply gifts of love in gold or silver.

At one end of Life’s spectrum we routinely take prints of toddlers as young as two months old. At the other end I have had the high honor of pressing a wax imprint of two gentlemens’ fingers after they have passed.

After over four years of being part of The Leather Shop at 11B Aviles Street in St. Augustine, Joel Bagnal Goldsmith has moved next door to 11C Aviles Street, sharing space with the Aviles Street Gallery. Joel joins with local fine art painters and photographers in this striking new cooperative space. In the heart of Old Town, Aviles Street is the oldest continuously used street in North America and the site of a truly unique collection of galleries, shops, and cafes.
