Before I walk onto every shift, I take a moment to pray.
Nursing is more than a profession—it’s a calling. Some days require strength, some require wisdom, and every day requires compassion.
This prayer reminds me that even on the hardest days, I don’t walk in alone.
Lord,
Before I walk onto this shift,
steady my heart and guide my hands.
Help me see every patient through Your eyes,
speak with compassion,
think with wisdom,
and serve with love.
When I feel tired, be my strength.
When I feel overwhelmed, be my peace.
When decisions are heavy, be my clarity.
Let my care reflect Your healing presence.
Protect my patients,
comfort their families,
and remind me that my work matters.
Today, I serve You by serving others.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
