Marianne Goodell Artist-Jeweler

Marianne Goodell Artist-Jeweler I create one-of-a-kind enamel jewelry and objects rooted in symbolism and inspired by natural forms. Those symbols became a powerful force for me.

The work draws from totems, process, and a sustained studio practice. I have always loved art and jewelry, but did not set out to be an artist. Typical thinking in a traditional Greek family was to have some type of marketable skill. Therefore I went to college majored in Business Management and worked as computer network consultant. Eventually, working in a technical field was no longer fulfillin

g, so I decided to pursue my creative side. Periodically I suffered from depression and learned to turn to symbols for guidance in healing my perceived deficiencies. When I decided to pursue my full time art career, I knew I wanted my creations to illicit the same response in the people who bought my art and jewelry. When I set out to create something, I often think of an emotion that I want to portray and usually determine which symbols would best convey that emotion. After I start working, the piece begins to create itself through an intuitive process. Invoking healing and growth is one of my main focuses and hopes you can be inspired to grow and heal as well. My work has been published in two books, three magazines, and has won two awards. In early 2018, "The Path" is going to grace the cover of a book of poetry. I welcome commissions and also PM's about my WIP's. People have been known to buy my work before it's even done by messaging me. As the weather warms, more plants reveal themselves. It’s almost like a dance. Birds chirp, flowers dance, and a feeling of lightness fills the air. This pendant represents that dance. A little pearl dangles from the bottom emphasizing a joyous celebration.

Let me know if you'd like to be notified when I offer this piece in July.

This entire series is about transitions. And just like a seed transitions into a sprout, into leaves and finally into a flower, so does an enamel emerge. Grain by grain layer by layer.

The seedlings remember and they emerge when the time is right. They hold their memories close to their heart. This locket is a representation of softness and kindness while strongly holding tight to the memories. Place a memento inside this locket to hold near your heart.
Let me know if you would like a tag for this treasure.

From a happy customer: “I absolutely loved my new ring jig! Here is a photo of my first enamel rings.“ those are her rings in the photo and me using the jig.

It’s great for holding round things and allowing you to work all the way around. Get yours now.

Remember scratch art? This is the enamel version. There is a fine layer of unfixed enamel over a fired layer. I’m drawing to reveal that under layer. This piece has a lot to say… stay tuned for the painting portion.

If all goes well, I’ll be showing it at the show. Thanks for the nudge…

Collecting the un-ordinary has always been a passion. So, I offer that in both my enamel jewelry and art. Right now I have a little bowl fixation 😂. Stay tuned.

I'm so thrilled to announce I'll be offering a series of enamels in an upcoming online show with Stephanie Gagos. As time passed the seasons continued to change and the choices I made with each piece reflected this transition.

Only after looking at the entire series did I realize the entire series is about transitions. May I present "First Thaw." Let me know if you want to be notified when I offer it in July.
