Artist Within - A Cedars Gallery We exhibit & sell art, jewelry, & textiles; made at Cedars day programs for adults w/ disabilities.

Cedars artists, hand weavers, jewelry designers and craftspeople show and sell their original work at the Artist Within - a Cedars Gallery at 603 San Anselmo Avenue in downtown San Anselmo. Purchases at Artist Within directly support these artists, as well as Cedars thriving programs and services.

All of the stellar art for "On The Map: Gathering Progressive Art Studios", is coming together! Here's a sneak peek. Exploring themes of identity and place through works on paper, ceramics, printmaking and more - from eight studios total.

We could not be more excited to present this exhibition, which partners with neighboring

The Opening Reception will be held Friday, June 26, from 6 - 8 pm at Artist Within - A Cedars Gallery.

Located at 603 San Anselmo Avenue in San Anselmo during , We will have food, drinks, a community art project and live bluegrass with Big Oak.

As seen at the end of the work week at Cedars Fine Art Studios!

🧡 Kellie Greenwald loves portraiture. It was fun to see what's started for her next drawing.
🌈 I passed some painted color wheels that line the windows around their small courtyard.
🏺Outside one of the rooms where Anna Price works, are two of her new pink and black floral works on paper.
📌 I was carrying a box of new posters for our next exhibition, On The Map: Gathering Progressive Art Studios. The main car and map image shown is by Patrick Rainey.

The creation of our next show's catalog prompted an updated description of the studio: Overlooking a giant circle of redwood trees in San Anselmo, Cedars Fine Art Studios is alive with color, texture, and the daily rhythm of working artists. From drawing and painting to sewn fiber arts, ceramic sculpture, and animation, artists develop distinctive bodies of work that move beyond the studio into exhibitions and the homes of collectors.

In just one month, we are so excited to present, "On The Map: Gathering Progressive Art Studios"
Opening Friday, June 26, 2026, 6-8pm at Artist Within - A Cedars Gallery.

This exhibition was born out of the collaborative spirit and current momentum in our field, as art facilitators and artists working in progressive art studios.

Featuring:
Alchemia (Petaluma), The Arc - Solano (Vallejo), Art Explorers (Fort Bragg), Becoming Independent (Santa Rosa), Cedars Fine Art Studios (San Anselmo), Cedars Barn Art Studio (San Rafael), Marin Ventures (San Rafael), and NIAD (Richmond)

We are non-profit organizations in the North Bay that share a commitment to creative expression and advocacy. The goal is to empower artists with developmental disabilities and to acknowledge the programs that support them.

We invite all who want to support our communities, learn about our missions, and see the art to attend! A small commemorative catalog will also be produced to further pin these organizations on the map.

"Rolling Along" by Siobhan Cooke & David Weiner

"Yellow Flower Sketch" by Anna Price

Both these works combine with a second or third layer of color. Cooke/Weiner have a longstanding collaborative practice that includes Siobhan's lines and David's subtle addition of color.

Anna likes starting with ballpoint pen; this time on a raw canvas sheet. When she chooses yellow, it reflects a bright mood ☀️🍀👐

Too early to announce all the details of our summer show - just know we are thrilled. We are currently planning something very collaborative 😃. In the meantime, we had a small gathering for the artists who spend most of their time at Cedars Senior program, to celebrate their versatility having just presented a printmaking collection. Nice work! The next event here at the gallery is May 9, Sip & Stroll!
