One pair of earrings started everything.
When my father passed them down to me, they were the only piece he had left from his grandfather, Georges Gallon.
Georges was a renowned jeweler and a gifted silversmith in Orléans. He made these diamond fan earrings in 1920. I was lucky to find this invoice from 1937, handwritten by him for a fine pearl necklace, where each pearl was weighed and priced.
In 1940, German bombs left the city of Orléans in ruins, and the shop with it. When the war ended, Georges and Alice came back and opened the doors again.
Years later, there was no one to take over, and the workshop went quiet.
My mother wore the earrings when she was young until one day when my father placed them in my hands and told me who Georges was. He told me about the workshop, and that he himself had been born there.
I needed to know more. I started searching everywhere, and one by one I found other pieces Georges had made, scattered over the decades.
In 2020, exactly a hundred years after he made these earrings, I reawakened GALLON.
As a GIA-certified gemologist, I select every stone myself and design each piece, and every one is handcrafted by our workshop in France.
Jewels made to be worn, kept, and passed on, as these were to me.
A century later, the name lives again ✨
