I SAID WHAT I SAID.
Taking it off for the shower, gym, sleeping, swimming, cooking, and cleaning isnāt babying it - itās protecting it.
Shower - most people think it cleans your jewelry but it actually does the opposite. Soaps and conditioners gunk up your pieces and if something comes loose - itās going down the drainā¦.
Gym - this should be a no brainer. Youāre around metal, heavy equipment, and focused on other things. A barbell on your necklace chain?! A dumbbell in your hand against your ring?! Disaster waiting to happen. Not to mention the possibility of getting degloved⦠𫣠Just wear a rubber ring and call it a day.
Swimming- CHLORINE corrodes metal. Yes gold and platinum AND all the other alloys in your jewelry. But thatās not all we are worried about⦠in water, your fingers shrink and rings can slip off and in the ocean they are often long gone before you can find them. Donāt have a Kim K moment with your diamond studs eitherā¦
Sleeping - you canāt even enjoy it or see it. Itās just getting pulled on, snagged, and all kinds of unnecessary wear. Take it off at night and cut the lifetime wear of your pieces IN HALF immediately!
Cleaning- chemicals do not mix well with metals and gemstones. Neither does lifting/manual labor. Even washing the dishes can hurt your rings/bracelets. Iāve even seen a ring that got hung up on the dryer and that wasnāt prettyā¦
Cooking - this gets your pieces all gunked up too. And heat from an oven/stove top can heat up a piece of jewelry and since the metal holds the heat longer than your body- it could burn you. Yikes.
Youāve been warned! PLEASE do your best but know we understand that things happen⦠we are here to repair all your beloved pieces but help us help you by following the recommendations above šš»
