Located in the historic San Francisco Design District at 888 Brannan in SoMa, the five-story building that houses the Gift & Jewelry Center is on the National Register of Historical Places and California Register of Historic Places. Originally built in 1912 by the National Carbon Company, it later served as a paper warehouse for Blake, Moffitt, and Towner. In 1983, it was converted into a wholesale mart, housing both gift and jewelry showrooms. Most recently, the SF Gift & Jewelry Center went through a major exterior and interior renovation, adding more space and light with a glass atrium. All jewelry-related businesses have consolidated in the lower and street levels of 888 Brannan.
