I love how silver turns white after a pickle bath. • The pickle is an acidic bath that begins the process of cleaning after soldering. It removes oxidation from the metal being heated.

The bath signifies the half way mark of the jewelry process for me. At this point, I can begin to see what the piece will look like finished and start prepping the piece to be polished.

It’s not perfect, but it is my first faceted gemstone setting!

6mm pink garnet set in a four prong basket setting. Hand-fabricated from sterling silver 925.

This is a practice piece, but there’s more to come 😉
