📌 Save this post so you always know how to keep your permanent jewelry looking new.

Since your jewelry never comes off, oils, lotion, and everyday grime build up right on the metal. A quick clean keeps it looking fresh like the piece you first fell in love with.

**Note: This is only for gold-filled, solid gold, and sterling silver pieces. If it’s a plated metal, cleaning won’t save it. When the plating wears off, there’s no bringing that back.**

Here’s the rundown, from everyday shine to “it’s been a minute” gunk:

For daily shine: a quick swipe with a microfiber cloth keeps it glowing, no product needed.

Light buildup: warm water + mild soap, then pat dry.

My go-to: Shinery (on Amazon). Genuinely one of my favorite jewelry cleaning products, and the bottle is cute enough to keep at your sink 24/7.

Heavy gunk: Dawn dish soap + a V soft bristle toothbrush gets into every link.

Hot tip: after the pool, hot tub, or ocean, rinse with fresh water so chlorine and salt don’t dull your piece over time.
