The daughter of an air force piolot, Jewels spent her formative years growing up in Tripoli. She traveled extensively with her family from Tunis to Tangiers and recalls endless wandering through exotic market souks with her mother. Struck by the beauty of the coral, amber and tribal other tribal adornments, she says "I was hooked." After her education in Europe, Jewels spent many years traveling;

living in India, South America and again in North Africa, expanding her education of jewelry design and knowledge of cultural artifacts-always collecting. Once she moved back to the states, long dark hair and decorated in beads and chains, she tried a stint of waiting tables. She promptly lost her job and never looked back. Clients are still buying necklaces off her neck
