Engaged, art deco style.

When clients have very specific taste, they tend to find exactly what they’ve been looking for with me; that’s because the nature of my work lends itself to the unique.

Being able to provide people with the ability to work face-to-face, often for the first time, with a jeweler, is truly a pleasure. This white gold and diamond engagement ring is inspired by popular styles of the art deco period.

This very special ring was custom made for one of my favorite longtime clients. It’s pretty big and completely solid, weighing in quite heavy. The mix of gold used for this piece included my client’s cross from his first communion, as well as other sentimental pieces.

We’ve worked together on multiple custom projects over the years and he always brings such great energy to our appointments. I created 4 different designs until we had the proportions just right; incredibly important for this bold yet simple piece.

We’re currently working on the design for his next piece and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Working hard or hardly working…? 😁

I am setting this beautiful oval diamond into a custom engagement ring. The ring was designed by the couple together and cast in 14kt rose gold.

I was in the middle of finishing this stunning peridot ring, which was a custom piece for two of my favorite long-time clients, when I had to go pick someone up from school….

We were also trying to film the work so Regina could make a short video of me working on the ring; showing the casting of the gold, the sawing off of the sprue, drilling, filing, soldering the crown, the polishing, etc. I was in the middle of setting this very brilliant trillion-cut peridot into the ring when we got a visitor at the workshop

And yes, we did go to the “gem store” afterwards 😂

Sawing off the sprue; the excess metal left after the casting process. I use lost-wax casting, a technique over 6,000 years old. It’s hardly changed in all that time.
