🖤 Spooky season is in full swing and black diamonds were made for this time of year.

Dark, mysterious, brilliant. There's something about a black diamond that just fits October perfectly. Same brilliance as a traditional white diamond but darker and a lot more unexpected. A solitaire setting is all it needs...no fuss, just that deep rich sparkle doing its thing.

October birthstone is opal and it might be the most visually interesting stone I work with.

Every single opal is completely different. Some show blue and green, some go full rainbow depending on how the light hits it. It almost looks like the stone is moving. You really have to see it in person to get it.

🍂 The season is shifting and so is the palette.

This time of year I start reaching for the warmer, deeper stones. Garnet, citrine, amethyst. Rich earthy tones that just feel right when the air starts to cool down and everything around you turns that warm amber color.

As someone who makes everything by hand, this one hits close. A lot of what goes into each piece happens behind the scenes. Time, patience, a lot of hours at the bench. Worth every minute though.

September birthstone is sapphire and if you know your stones, you've probably heard of its lesser known twin, Iolite.

Often called the "Water Sapphire," Iolite has that same deep blue violet energy but with this incredible quality where the color actually shifts depending on the angle you're looking at it. It's one of those stones you have to see in person to really get it.
