I am acutely aware that this is my business page, not my personal page. However, I can't in good conscience stand by and say nothing with all that's going on in our country right now.

We've always been a people of different ideologies, but we've always agreed on one thing: we are a Democratic Republic above all else, and we don't want to be governed by an autocrat, a king, queen or a dictator. We've always stood firm on that. Until now.

It appears that some in our country are content to be governed by a strong arm dictator, using the caveat that they believe this person will do the right thing by us and give us a better country. This is not what we were built on, however.

We've watched this type of leadership play out in other countries, and it doesn't go well for the people, only for those in charge.

So I ask you: are you really willing to abandon all we've worked for, fought for, and held to be true, for one moment of feeling victorious? Because, that's all it would be, one moment. Then the truth of what we allowed to happen would be revealed; we would lose our rights as a people. We will have turned those rights over to one person. Is that really a chance we want to take, or do we want to trust that maybe this system we've created of working with one another in an equilibrium might still be our best path forward?

It's in our hands. I implore you to think it through with love and compassion for one another in your hearts, and an eye towards the future of our country.

No one is above the law. No President ever deserves to be immune from the consequences of his or her actions.
