Crystal of the Week 💎 PURPLE APATITE
If Apatite immediately makes you picture an electric blue crystal, Purple Apatite might completely change the way you see this mineral family. 💜
Apatite occurs in an incredible range of colors, including green, blue, yellow, pink, violet and purple. Purple material is far less familiar in crystal jewelry, which is one reason I was so excited to create with it.
Mineralogically, Apatite belongs to a group of phosphate minerals and has a Mohs hardness of 5. Its chemistry can accommodate different elements, and manganese can contribute to violet or purple coloration in some fluorapatite. 🧪
Apatite is associated with inspiration, manifestation and wellness. Purple Apatite takes that energy into a space that feels much more intuitive to me. I connect it strongly with the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, especially when I’m trying to see beyond the obvious answer, reconnect with an idea that excites me or get clear on what I actually want to create next.
There is something almost imaginative about working with it. It makes me want to look beyond the obvious answer and pay attention to the idea that keeps returning.
