I am going to be working on a new key pendant soon. Have to clean up the silver sand casting and get to designing. I added a photo of the previous key pendant I made as a prototype and personal piece. I think I may do a collection of keys at some point this year if time and client interest allows.
The stone in the prototype is a 25 carat Shaman quartz cabochon. It is also known as scenic quartz or garden quartz. Please let me know if you think I should make a collection of keys for sale!

Week 9/52
All hand fabricated and smithed by me in my little studio in Pennsylvania.
This week's earrings are lovely dangles that end in cute little faceted Oregon sunstone rounds.
Oregon sunstone comes in a multitude of shades from clear to cherry red and even deep teal green! These sunstones are a light straw color with undertones of peach and, of course, some shiller.
All the metal is sterling silver. It has been oxidized to a shiny charchol grey. As always I want to thank you all for being here on this journey with me.

I made a new talisman this evening. This one features a 30.67 carat Angel Aura Quartz cabochon that I purchased from .stones.sales.
Aside from one small feather inclusion, which is hidden by the bezel, this quartz is pretty much flawless. I typically do not use treated gemstones, but this was just too pretty to pass up!
Angel Aura Quartz is created by vaporizing platinum and silver to the quartz. It created this almost holographic effect.
I added my signature texture on the back side of the pendant as well as to the interior of the setting. I LOVE the way the texture plays off the glow and colors of the angel aura quartz. What do you think?

So tonight I made two things. First off we have a chrysocolla and malachite in quartz from Bisbee Arizona. This puppy weighs in at 16.43 carats of AWESOME! All the metal is .925 sterling and .999 fine silver sheet and wire. Hand fabricated by me in my studio in frigid Pennsylvania. I gave the pendant my signature texture on the back as seen. I was so excited to get my diamond core drill bits from Rio Grande on Wednesday. I had to try them out!
This is a lovely and natural Brazilian aquamarine crystal (old stock, like from 1999) that I drilled a hole through. I then fed a sterling twist wire jump ring through. Then I soldered the ring closed, attached an oval ring and soldered for a bail.
I know I will be making a bunch of these types of pieces again. They are just a fun way to wear a gemstone in it's natural state.
Next will be a stone on stone setting. I already have some fun ideas in mind. Hopefully after getting my Yule tree up and running a few errands today, I will have the opportunity to create! As always I thank you all for being here on this journey with me.
