10,000 FOLLOWERS!! 🎉💕 It only took us SIX YEARS! 😂
What started as two teachers making resin earrings during COVID has turned into something we never could have imagined. And while 10,000 followers might not seem like a huge number to some, to us, it feels BIG!
Six years of late nights, working weekends, countless Facebook Lives, thousands of posts, trial and error, and figuring things out as we go. Being a small business owner means wearing ALL the hats. We’re the artists, designers, makers, marketers, photographers, packers, customer service department, and sometimes even the cleaning crew. Thankfully, we have a small but mighty team that helps us keep all the plates spinning!
We’ve grown and changed so much along the way. We started pouring resin at home, then learned to design and cut our own acrylic earrings. We started painting our acrylic by hand, creating our own artwork, and now we’re finding new ways to put that art on all kinds of things. We are constantly learning, experimenting, making mistakes, and coming up with the next crazy idea. And that’s one of our favorite parts of this whole journey. We’re artists who are still evolving! When this little side hustle started taking off, we made the HUGE leap from teaching to making Sandy + Rizzo our full-time jobs. It was exciting, and terrifying! Being your own boss isn’t always easy. There are no real days off, and the work doesn’t stop. But getting to wake up and create art every day, alongside your best friend, is something we don’t take for granted.And somewhere along the way, this business became about so much more than earrings. We’ve made friendships we never would have made otherwise, met people from all over the country, and built a community of Pink Ladies who have cheered us on every step of the way. We’ve also had the opportunity to show our daughters what it looks like to take a chance, work hard, figure things out, and build something from absolutely nothing with your best friend. We hope that’s something they’ll carry with them.
And now, 10,000 FOLLOWERS! This milestone is especially exciting because it opens up new opportunities for us on Facebook and hopefully helps us get our art in front of even more people.
But here’s what we really want to say: THANK YOU.
Growing a small business isn’t always fast, and it definitely isn’t always easy. We’ve watched other businesses grow faster, wondered if we were doing enough, and had plenty of moments when we questioned ourselves. But we’ve kept showing up, kept creating, and kept putting one foot in front of the other.
So here’s to 10,000, six years of figuring it out, and whatever crazy idea we come up with next!
