VFW Post 6472 , American Legion Post 148 Silver Creek NY & Amvets Post 6472 held a Wreath-Laying Ceremony to honor the Americans that lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.There was a short speech, & prayer Given by former town supervisor Todd Johnson with the tossing of a wreath into Lake Erie in remembrance and respect for the more then 2,400 Americans that perished in the attack. Over the Years the local VFW, American Legion & Amvets have paid their respects to the lives lost at Pearl Harbor with a joint ceremony. Services were held at 11AM Dec. 7th, 2025, at the Sunset Bay Marina.
Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is held annually on December 7th commemorating the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii by the Japanese Navy pushing the United States into World War II. 2403 Americans were killed and 1178 were injured with the attack sinking four US battleships, damaging 4 others and damaging 3 cruisers, three destroyers and destroying 188 aircraft and damaging 159 aircraft.
