Intentional Allay Designs

Welcome! I create custom natural gemstone jewelry to give the wearer a metaphysical boost! I am perpetually busy, as my ADHD doesn't allow me a lot of free time.

For some time, I've been learning of the metaphysical properties found in gemstones. I enjoy making jewelry that not only look pretty but may also provide healing properties to the wearer. I first made them for my family and friends for grief, ADHD, depression, anxiety, love, studying help, confidence, and more. I spent a long time learning the various healing properties, the strong partnerships, the stones that don't mesh, etc. It has been such a joy learning the metaphysical properties that I decided to make them for others. On a personal note, I am a married mother of six kids and three fur babies. I am an investigator by trade, working as both an investigation supervisor full-time and a death investigator part-time. Because I work in intensive, sensitive situations that may be stressful, this little venture provides a way to work through the stressors in my life while hopefully others some positivity.

☀️ MEET THE STONE: SUNSTONE ☀️

Every stone has a story, and Sunstone’s is full of warmth, sparkle, and a little geological magic.

Part of the feldspar family, Sunstone is known for its beautiful peach, orange, and golden tones AND the tiny reflective inclusions that make some varieties seem to sparkle from within. ✨

Traditionally associated with joy, vitality, and confidence, Sunstone carries a message I particularly love:

Bright doesn’t have to mean loud.

Confidence isn’t always about standing out. Sometimes it’s about knowing who you are, recognizing your own strengths, and allowing yourself to shine in your own way.

What a way to wrap up my outdoor event season! 💜

A huge thank you to the Savage community and the Savage Area Arts Community for coming out yesterday! I met so many wonderful people, had some great conversations, and am incredibly grateful for everyone who stopped by, shopped, or simply admired my work.

But can we talk about that WIND?! 💨😩

Mother Nature was not playing nice, and after yesterday, I can confidently say I’m VERY happy to be done with outdoor events for the year!

Unfortunately, the wind also came with some casualties. The most heartbreaking was this fluorite and amethyst necklace. 💔 So many beautiful stones shattered, and this one definitely hurt.

Still, broken jewelry and all, I’m ending the outdoor season feeling grateful. Thank you to everyone who has supported Intentional Allay Designs throughout the year, and to the organizers who put so much work into making these events happen.

Now, bring on the indoor events, where my jewelry can stay safely on the tables! 😂💜

Mineral Spotlight: Opal

Since it’s October, I had to do opal.

And honestly, opal is kind of weird. 😂 It’s not technically even a mineral—it’s a mineraloid. It contains water, some types can actually absorb water, and that crazy play-of-color isn’t color in the stone at all. It’s light interacting with its internal structure.

Also, not all opal is flashy! Pink opal, dendritic opal, blue opal and a bunch of the other varieties I use are still real opal even though they don’t have that rainbow flash.

And then you get into solid opal vs. doublets and triplets, natural vs. synthetic vs. imitation…there is a LOT more to opal than I realized when I first started working with stones.

So this month’s Mineral Spotlight got a little out of hand. 😂

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

This one matters to me.

Domestic violence doesn’t always look the way people expect it to. It can be physical, but it can also be emotional, financial, sexual, psychological, or controlling. It can look like fear. Isolation. Walking on eggshells. Being made to believe you have nowhere to go.

And leaving isn’t always as simple as “just leave.”

This month, I want Intentional Allay to do more than raise awareness. I want it to help.

Throughout October, I’m donating 20% of all online sales to Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence, an organization serving survivors in western Wisconsin.

So if you’ve been thinking about ordering something, know that this month your purchase will mean a little more. You’ll still be supporting my tiny business, but you’ll also be helping support an organization doing incredibly important work for people in our communities.

And to anyone who is living through abuse, has left, is trying to leave, is rebuilding, is dealing with the aftermath, or loves someone who is:

Remember these? Because apparently I forgot about them. 😂📚

I made stone-and-charm bookmarks before, sold every one of them…and then proceeded to never make them again.

Well, they’re back.

I don’t use premade charms in much of my work, but I love them for these. I get to pick the fun little charm and then add natural stones to make each one its own thing.

I only made six for this round, and they’re coming with me to the Stone Lake Cranberry Festival this Saturday!

Book people, I didn’t forget about you forever. Just…for a while. 😂

Last Night’s creations ✨

Apparently I had a lot of ideas that needed to get out tonight. 😂

Amethyst, Super 7, Calcite, Quartz, Moss Agate, Tree Agate, Botswana Agate and more. Lots of texture, natural variation, and combinations that are a little different from what I’ve been making lately.

Sometimes I sit down knowing exactly what I’m going to make.

Sometimes I just start pulling stones and let them figure it out.

Last night was definitely the latter. ❤️
