Alchemical here is the most significant work of my jewelry career so far, and the inspiration for my recent rebranding.
Alchemy was the predecessor to modern chemistry, but the practice emerged at a time when it was necessarily entwined with a spiritual view of the universe, and the combinations and processes that alchemists followed were formed of both rigorous experimentation and religious intuition.
Carl Jung would later use Alchemy as a metaphor for the discovery and transmutation of trauma in the unconscious mind.
For me, Alchemical Engineering is about developing the forms that flow out of my unconscious, by painstakingly binding crystals and gems into fixed structures with precious metals. The process necessarily involves continuously treading on the edge of known forms, and testing the limits of the possible.
