Today, we say, “Thank you.”

We say thank you to the many brave men and women who have taken up the charge to protect our nation and its interests.

We say thank you to those who ran toward the danger when their instincts may have said to run away.

We say thank you to those who have missed special moments, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and more so the rest of us could celebrate them freely.

We say thank you to those who came home a changed person for one reason or another and who still battle those changes.

We say thank you to those who chose a life of service and to those who choose it now.

Today, we say THANK YOU even though those two words don’t feel like enough.

Happy Veterans Day to ALL who have served and to those currently serving.

Thank you.

Happy 4th of July!! Here are my looks for today!

The first set was for during our parade! Our Cub Scout Pack lead our neighborhood parade today with a fishing themed float so I had to include some fishing charms 😍

Then, Ellie created an extra special locket for me once I changed out of my scout uniform. She LOVES building lockets and is always looking for a reason to create one. I love it (and her) so much!!

It may be hot out but so is my jewelry 😂🔥🙌

Ok, seriously though: I am ALL FOR the charm revival that is happening. I still have all of my charm bracelets I created growing up and now I’m loving these new charms I’ve added to my (growing) collection.

I especially love this little lemon!! It reminds me of so many things but I primarily makes me think back to Little Man’s first birthday party last year which was themed with oranges and lemons. I still cannot believe he is already 2! 😱

This Memorial Day please take a moment to remember those that made it possible for us to enjoy today’s barbecues, family time, and sales. They gave all and paid with their lives in the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and our freedom. Today, we honor and remember them! .

Did someone say BOGO?!?

Why yes, yes I did!! Protect your skin and your lips (they can get sunburned too) this summer with these awesome BOGO bundles!

Our SPF 30 Tinted Primer is awesome as a base and primer to your other make up AND it’s fantastic all on its own. I love that it acts a bit like a color corrector cream and helps even out my skin tone while protecting my skin from the harsh rays of the sun.

Added bonus: I LOVE that it is clean and safe for Ellie to use instead of heavy foundation. This is her base for her dance recital makeup in a few weeks.

Happy Earth Day!

As a family, we are always looking for ways to help our environment and to take care of this beautiful planet for future generations. Ellie is now at an age where she knows about recycling and it always warms our heart to watch her take it as seriously as she does.

This past weekend, we celebrated Earth Day by cleaning up the park we were camping in with our Cub Scout Pack. Ellie and her fellow scouts were determined to use their grabbers to get every last piece of trash. They were definitely on a mission.

Over the past few years we’ve switched out quite a few products around our house to items that are reusable and we haven’t looked back. Are we perfect? No, not by any means! But am I proud of what we are doing to try to reduce waste and recycle more? Absolutely!

What bucket list item(s) have you checked off in 2024 so far???

For me it was seeing the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin in DC! This has been on my list for at least the past 12 years and this year, we made it happen!!

Fun story, Eric and I honeymooned in DC 12 years ago in March and it was just the start of that cherry blossom season. I had always heard about the cherry blossoms but hadn’t given it much thought… until then. Even the very beginning of the season was magical for me and that firmly placed seeing them in their full bloom glory on my list.

When Uncle Sam moved us to VA (almost) two years ago, I KNEW it was time to make this dream a reality.

In the chaos and crazy we didn’t make it last and this year, when the park service announced the upcoming removal of many trees due to much needed work on the sea wall, we knew we had to make it happen. AND WE DID!!

I share all of that as a reminder. There will never be a perfect time. There will always be something else going on or that needs to be done. Do your best to make the time, you won’t be sorry that you did!
