Our Hands-On Closer Look at the MB&F Legacy Machine Sequential EVO “Strawberry” is now live on YouTube!

Link in bio 🔗

MB&F’s Legacy Machines are one of the most beloved collections in modern independent watchmaking. This timepiece is the first chronograph to grace the brand’s catalog, the Legacy Machine Sequential EVO, in an extremely unusual “strawberry dial” version.

Technically, the standard edition’s dial is “atomic orange,” but this much more strawberry-colored hue was actually a manufacturing mishap. Only a handful of “faulty strawberry” dials were made, and the initial buyers all opted to keep their Strawberry examples when offered service back to orange.

This timepiece is also available now on our website.

A rare “strawberry dial” Sequential EVO, not the standard atomic orange.

A manufacturing mishap that turned out beautiful, and the original owners all opted to keep it this way when offered to swap.

The first chronograph from MB&F… it had to be wild. The Sequential EVO is the Swiss Army Knife of chronographs.

Lap timer, split second, chess clock, interval timer, two independent events, and of course, a traditional chronograph.

This is not your typical chronograph, and this model is not your typical colorway for the Sequential EVO.

Technically, the standard edition's dial is "atomic orange," but this much more strawberry colored hue was actually a manufacturing mishap.

Only a handful of faulty "strawberry" dials were made and the initial buyers all opted to keep these examples when offered service sway back to orange.

The first chronograph in MB&F's catalog, the Sequential EVO redefines what a modern chronograph can be. Developed in collaboration with master watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, it won the "Best in Show" at the GPHG Awards in 2022.

The timepiece features two fully independent chronographs operating within a single movement, capable of timing separate events, split intervals, cumulative timing, laps, or functioning as a traditional chronograph. Central to the movement is the revolutionary "Twinverter" mechanism, a fifth pusher at 9 o'clock that can simultaneously start, stop, or alternate between both chronographs with a single press.

The openworked dial showcases mirrored chronograph displays alongside the signature flying balance wheel suspended above the movement.

The lightweight 44mm zirconium case features 80 meters of water resistance, enhanced shock protection, and an integrated rubber strap with titanium folding buckle, an unusually robust package for such an ultra-complicated timepiece.

The Chopard L.U.C Full Strike is one of the most technically impressive minute repeaters of the modern era. Introduced in 2016, the watch marked the brand's first minute repeater timepiece and immediately established itself as a landmark in contemporary haute horlogerie, earning the prestigious Aiguille d'Or (Best in Show) at the 2017 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).

What makes the Full Strike extraordinary is its patented sapphire gong system. Traditional minute repeaters rely on hardened steel gongs attached to the movement, but Chopard engineered the crystal and gongs from a single block of sapphire. The result is a remarkably pure and resonant sound, with a crystalline clarity that recalls the ringing tone of a wine glass struck during a toast.

This white gold edition pairs that innovation with an openworked dial that showcases the chiming mechanism in action. The dial-side hammers transform the repeater into a visual spectacle, allowing the wearer to experience the complication through both sound and motion.

Powered by the COSC-certified Calibre 08.01-L, the Full Strike combines technical sophistication with thoughtful practicality.

Despite housing 533 components, the watch remains impressively wearable at 42.5mm wide and just 11.5mm thick.

Expanding one of its most technically significant creations, Armin Strom introduces the Dual Time GMT Resonance Aventurine in a compact 39mm stainless steel case. Defined by a shimmering aventurine dial inspired by a star-filled night sky, the latest interpretation brings a celestial dimension to the brand's signature resonance complication.

First explored by horological pioneers including Christiaan Huygens and Abraham-Louis Breguet, resonance remains one of watchmaking's most fascinating phenomena. Armin Strom's modern interpretation is built specifically for the wrist.
Powering the watch is the manual-winding manufacture calibre ARF22, developed entirely in-house. Its patented Resonance Clutch Spring directly synchronizes two independent balance wheels, enhancing chronometric stability and transforming resonance into a practical everyday advantage.

Operating at 3.5 Hz with a 42-hour power reserve, the movement features two fully independent time displays, each with its own hours, minutes, and day/night indicator.

The aventurine dial contrasts against the movement's warm rose gold-coloured mainplate, while rose gold-coloured hands and applied indexes enhance legibility. Black azurage chapter rings frame the dual displays, complemented by a matte grey alligator strap.

Limited to 15 pieces, the Dual Time GMT Resonance Aventurine is a refined expression of Armin Strom's dedication to ultra-complicated, modern watchmaking.

Introducing the Moritz Grossmann BACKPAGE Tremblage Violet.

Now available to pre-order. Link in bio 🔗

Moritz Grossmann continues the celebration of its founder's 200th birthday with the release of a limited-edition BACKPAGE Tremblage model in platinum, featuring a vibrant violet dial.

This limited-edition model makes a statement through colour and texture. The remaining dial elements define the character of the watch in a rich violet tone, creating a striking contrast against the gold-plated gear wheels, gold chatons, and meticulously bevelled and polished screw heads, all hallmarks of Grossmann finishing.

The dial itself is crafted from German silver and finished by hand using the historical tremblage engraving technique, which creates a textured matte surface through tiny hand-guided movements of the cutter.

The handcrafted steel hands complement the model individually, annealed to a brown-violet hue. Matching straps continue the colour concept with violet kudu leather.

The BACKPAGE Tremblage is housed in a 41mm platinum case measuring 11.35mm thick and is powered by the manually wound calibre 107.0.

The BACKPAGE Tremblage is limited to 12 pieces.

Introducing the Moritz Grossmann BACKPAGE Tremblage Blue.

Now available to pre-order. Link in bio 🔗

Moritz Grossmann continues the celebration of its founder's 200th birthday with the release of a limited-edition BACKPAGE Tremblage model in platinum, featuring a vibrant "blue meteor" dial.

The BACKPAGE Tremblage accentuates the aesthetics of the mechanical movement. Thanks to the large dial cutouts, the most beautiful details of the manufacturer's watchmaking artistry are rendered visible.

Reading the time also reveals partial sections of the highly finished calibre 107.0, including defining stylistic elements such as the Grossmann balance, the hand-engraved balance c**k with floral motifs, and the three-band snailing on the ratchet wheel. Normally, these components would be found on the back of a watch.

However, the mirrored construction of the movement gives it a completely new appearance.

The handcrafted steel hands complement the deep "blue meteor" tone, annealed to a blue hue. Matching straps continue the colour concept with blue alligator leather.

A subtle engraving reading "1826" on the balance c**k references the birth year of Moritz Grossmann and commemorates the manufacture's bicentennial celebrations.

This blue BACKPAGE Tremblage is limited to just 12 pieces.

05/18/2026

This is how Moritz Grossmann creates one of its signature finishes: tremblage.

Every tremblage-finished dial is relief engraved, meaning the logo, numerals and chapter rings are left while the rest of the dial sits on a level below.

To apply the tremblage finish, an artisan uses a fine-tipped chisel, known as a burin, under a loupe to make thousands of tiny cuts into the surface of the dial. The motion is short and chaotic, but the key to good tremblage is consistency. Too deep, too shallow, too uniform in direction, tremblage loses its visual complexity and depth.

The Konstantin Chaykin Night Joker.

Pre-loved and now available: https://www.esperluxe.com/product/konstantin-chaykin-night-joker-pre-loved/

Even after celebrating our five year anniversary recently, there's never a shortage of new "firsts" for us in the realm of independent watchmaking. We are excited and pleased to present a creation from esteemed watchmaker, Konstantin Chaykin. This is the Night Joker, released originally in 2018.

Konstantin Chaykin is one of the industry's most prolific inventors. He has roughly 100 patents to his name, and an eclectic catalog of watches and ultra-complicated clocks. Nothing, however, is more popular than Chaykin's Joker. The watch with a face is the face of Chaykin's creativity in modern independent watchmaking.

The Joker doesn't tick any of the typical boxes (chronometric performance, fine finishing, ultra-complicated), but it's a challenge to find any timepiece in watchmaking that elicits a more emotional response. It taps into something innately human, that we're excellent at recognizing emotions on faces, so we're constantly seeing more than the time with every glance at the watch.

While the dial is the star of the show, the movement of the Night Joker is no slouch. It's a heavily-modified ETA 2824 with the addition of 61 in-house manufactured components and 6 jewels to meet the requirements of the dial layout and moon phase complication. The in-house manufactured bezel is a nice touch with its 10 notches, each showing a playing-card suit or letter "J" for Joker.

In PVD-coated stainless steel, 42mm in diameter, numbered 06/50. Pre-loved and available now.
