You've seen the finished piece. You've seen how it came together. Now here's the story behind the hand engraved artwork on the back.
The fire agate on the front looks almost exactly like an anatomical heart, so that became the starting point for the engraving.
From there, I decided to have the heart incubating a baby alien.
In the design, the heart represents love and the baby alien represents the altered version of yourself that can slowly grow when you lose sight of who you are in a relationship.
Sometimes we get so focused on another person and trying to make them happy that we slowly drift away from ourselves. When the relationship ends, we're left trying to find our way back.
I engraved this as a reminder to stay true to who I am, no matter how deeply I care about someone else.
