Our next Season recap brought to you by Robert Wesell - Shorewest Realtors is for 5th grade Red.

5 Red has been a really fun and successful team to coach! After a 7-4 start to the season with some growing pains, these boys dug in and went on a 23 game winning streak! Finishing on 27-1 run for an overall 34-5 record, culminating with a Badgerland Tier 1 Championship! They racked up championships in 6 out of 7 tournaments they played in.

These boys have a passion for basketball, competition, and hold very high standards for themselves. To say we’re excited to see what the future holds for them is an understatement. Great season men!

Our next Team Recap brought to you by Robert Wesell - Shorewest Realtors is for 7 Black!

The goal every year is to develop mentally and physically while expanding on our basketball knowledge with the expectation we will be consistently competitive no matter who we line up against, league or tournaments. That attitude and work ethic will serve them well as they continue to work towards improving their respective skills. As for the season, it seems we were in OT or in tight contests regularly, along with a double overtime sprinkled in at the Sussex tournament against Brookfield East. We showed well in various events throughout the season, and we will wind down the year with our league tournament March 4th and a final tournament in Madison due to reaching a championship game earlier this year. Their signature win was against an athletic and long Pius team, trailing by 2, with a late game three pointer securing the victory. We called our final TO with about 35\40 seconds left, we asked the boys, go for the win or tie? WIN so we sketched it out on the board and the boys executed it and drained the 3 with about 11 seconds to go. This season we saw all 9 contribute week in and week out but we are most proud of how they practice and prepare. Now keep learning how to be finishers.

Our next Team Recap brought to you by Robert Wesell - Shorewest Realtors is for 5th White!!!

The 5th grade white team started out hot winning the 24Up tournament and their first two league games. After dropping a pair of league games coming back from the Thanksgiving break, the team rebounded winning the Pewaukee Tournament and Charger Hoopfest before closing out the first half of the season winning 3 out of 4 league games. At the start of the new year the boys earned a second place finish in the Germantown tournament, losing a heartbreaker in OT, before winning the consolation bracket of the Slinger “A” tournament. After a tough loss in the opening round of the Muskego “A” tournament, the boys rebounded to win the next two games and in convincing fashion over Hartland Arrowhead and Tosa East to secure another consolation bracket. Moving into February, the boys won the Brookfield East Tournament in convincing fashion. The next week the team lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer in the semifinals in Waterford, but rebounded with a 30 point win in the third place game. After the December/January break, the team went on a role in league play winning 7 of 8 with the only loss an OT affair. The team finished the regular season 12-4 (1 game out of 1st) in league play and 32-8 overall including 4 tournament crowns. The white team played in a number of nailbiters going 10-6 in games decided by 4 points or less including 3-3 in overtime games. Season highlight games included an OT win over co regular season champion Sheboygan North and a 2 point comeback win over the other co-champion Shorewood. The White team also got a big win over Greenfield hitting the game winning free throw with 1 second left on the clock. White closed out the regular season with a 1 point win vs Burlington after trailing by 11 at the half. The game was won on a lead changing basket with 2.8 seconds remaining in the game. Overall, the team played very well together with all 10 players contributing significantly to the on court success.

Our next Season Recap brought to you by Robert Wesell - Shorewest Realtors is for 8 White!

Coaching this group of guys has been nothing short of an absolute privilege. Coach Jayson and I have had the opportunity to watch these young men grow in so many ways. They have each improved their skills tremendously while having as much fun as possible. Coming into the season, I knew that they were a talented group of boys and they proved that each and every week. They battled through so much adversity and always found a way to overcome it whether it showed on the scoreboard or not. Our first Tournament at Kettle Moraine for the 24Up showcase was the first time this entire group played together and they proved to us as coaches that they have what it takes to succeed this final Jr. Chargers season with claiming the consolation championship. As a coach, I have had many favorite moments this season, but my absolute favorite has to be when we beat Homestead. Throughout the season we have played Homestead a few times and fell to them each time which I know disappointed all of us. When we played them a third time, everyone played together and we ended up winning by double digits and there is nothing better than seeing the competitiveness from each of our guys. I have loved coaching this group and after these past couple months, I am certain they are able to compete and succeed at the High School level and hope to see them all there to have the opportunity to coach them again!

Our next season recap is from 4th Grade White, brought to you by Robert Wesell - Shorewest Realtors!!!

In their first full season with league play, 4th White has shown significant improvement as a team. Early in the season the coaches challenged the team to show up every day with maximum effort and hustle, even outfitting the boys with Hustle hats as a reminder and motivation. The goal was to build upon each success and failure and continue to climb the ladder of improvement as the season progressed. The result has been a significant building of confidence and aggressiveness in the team, with several opponents and referees complimenting the team throughout the year on their significant movement in the motion offense. The coaches are very proud of the development from the boys throughout the season. Having competed well in their first year of league they are looking forward to finishing the season strong in the league tournament in March.

The Next Season Recap brought to you by Robert Wesell - Shorewest Realtors is here and it’s for 7 White!!

The best word to describe 7 White is FIGHT! They found themselves trailing by double digits in many games...and found ways to claw back. Many times, taking the lead, and in some cases winning. After second place finishes in a few tournaments, including Hamilton Hoopfest B, 7 White was able to get over the hump and win the Waterford tournament. In the Championship game, the boys overcame a five-point deficit in the final minutes to secure the win! It was a great moment for the team with smiles, hugs, and high-fives all around. Over the course of the season, the biggest victory for 7 White was becoming a team. Each player contributed to scoring – and many of their baskets came off assists. On defense, they continuously forced teams to take tough shots. The 7 White team played a competitive schedule. They did not chase wins, but focused on getting better. Throughout the season, the players never backed down to anyone – showing great character and representing the Charger family quite well. Overall, a good season for the 7 White squad!
