A dismal day calls for a moody piece of jewelry! Marcel’s tourmalated quartz and black spinel pendant, on a black rubber cord, is the perfect piece. Designed in CAD and hand-set by our jeweler, Steve, this sterling silver pendant features an oval quartz cabochon with unusual black tourmaline “needles”. The bail of the pendant has been reverse-set with square black spinel gems, with their culets (bottom points) facing up.

Inspiration is everywhere! Marcel was inspired by the Wiener Werkstatte to design this peridot cabochon and green diamond pendant, in sterling silver. The Wiener Werkstatte was an artisans cooperative that was founded in Vienna in 1903. It brought together designers and makers of “utilitarian “ objects, including leather goods, ceramics, jewelry, paper goods and even architecture. Swipe through to see Marcel’s sketches for the pendant, and some of the original fashions and designs produced by the Wiener Werkstatte.

Marcel considered different arrangements for the peridot cabochons, which have high, smoothly domed tops.

Emilie Floge, a couturier who co-owned the Schwestern Floge fashion salon, in one of her designs. Emilie was the muse and partner of Austrian painter Gustav Klimt.
