Hey friends! It’s me, your friendly (or maybe not so friendly) neighborhood metalsmith, Melanie. I’ve been on an Impromptu hiatus for the past two or so months, and I’m trying my best to come out of this hibernation that I’ve found myself in. It was a very strange winter and if I didn’t know any better I might still think it’s January, but the unseasonably warm weather and greenery/ flowers are telling me otherwise. Since 2020 every year has brought some sort of new challenges or changes for me personally and professionally. 2023 hasn’t been any different. However, I’m hoping now that I’ve ripped the bandaid off that I can be better about posting on here now, and I hope everyone is well. ❤️

I use to hate doing customs, and I really think that was because of my own insecurities. When I am making a piece specifically for someone, I always worry that it is not going to be good enough. With that being said, I am challenging myself, and I've been taking on more customs, and I would love to make something for you! Feel free to message me to talk it over, even if it's not a concrete idea. I would love to hear from you!! And the great thing about getting a custom from me/ a small business? I am much more flexible and I will work with you in any way I can. So, I want to hear from you, I promise I won't bite!

The last two weeks or so have been kinda fun with the Chinese spy balloon and other ufo/uap strangeness. 👽🛸 Whatever you think of the whole situation, my friend wanted to say hi, and wish everyone a happy Presidents’ Day! A couple of these cuties and their crafts have been spotted in MAtherton Metals’ airspace and they come in peace. ✌️
