Just finished the “statement size” of these earrings and have plans for a collection of smaller sizes. What do you think? Do you personally wear colorful jewelry or do you prefer silver and gold?

It’s been a day of ups and downs. I locked myself out of the studio right before class (it’s a Saturday and nobody is around!) but I managed to sort that out before students arrived to see me standing outside in the hall looking like a do**us, with my purse, Phone and keys locked inside🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ no way to call anyone, no way to even get home with my car keys in my purse, locked inside.

Thankfully Bri from Unity Collective saved the day-I was able to get in touch with her and she was able to call our building manager who was able to buzz me in. OMG. My heroes!

The best thing though is one of my students in class, who looked to be around my daughter’s age, said that I am “very cool” -an observation that seems to have alluded my daughter all these years. Now I have proof😝

And we made some lovely rings today in RINGBAR. Here are a couple of sweet ones.

WIP these have taken me 1/2 a day and I still need to grind the enamel off of the silver and make the part that they will hang from, but I am loving this new work. I’ve always been a little obsessed with creating compartments of color and I finally feel like I’m getting there. Finished earrings coming tomorrow because I need to go home and walk the dog before she disowns me.

Lots of times when I’m trying out new designs I prototype them in copper or bronze first before I make them in silver. I actually love how these came out in copper (with a little hint of silver) and now I think I’m gonna make them in bronze and silver too! I’m getting ready for upcoming shows! Next one is the Lafayette Apple Festival 10/10 & 10/11-hope to see you!

It’s a spectacular day for Art on the Porches! Come over to Ruskin Ave in Strathmore for free music and festivities and visit the 40+ local artists doing our thing.

This Saturday 9/12 I will be Art on the Porches in Strathmore on Ruskin alongside other fabulous artists, enjoying live music, art activities and food trucks.
It’s going to be the first non-rainy Saturday that I’ve done this show so you must come and partake!

You may recognize this style from Sanjana Sharma who was a vendor and led a pop-up card workshop at Art on the Porches last year!

Sanajana recently graduated from the M.F.A. program Syracuse Illustration🍊 with her next stop being NYC. In her own words: "I draw from memory, culture, and the small rituals that make us feel at home... Rooted in my Indian heritage but reaching far beyond it, I hope my art makes you hungry, happy, and maybe a little more curious about the world around you."
