I should really post more here. But I'm vending at Absolution Fest this Saturday, and then I make my return to the Tampa Bay Coffee and Art Festival on the 24th of October. Check out the new skeli-gator logo for my spooky side of things!

I've been doing a lot of website shuffling lately. After 4 years on Indiemade with little success, I've decided to leave the platform and start over. Etsy, as we know, is bloated with fees for sellers. Squarespace bought out Google Domains, and it's an absolute hassle to get the DNS set up unless you want to host there, so I'm started forwarding to a new Google Site until I get a storefront set up at Drifa's Leap.

Please be patient while I try to have a functioning web presence again.

Uranium glass is actually perfectly safe to wear and handle. These beads are vintage from the 1920s! Uranium oxide in the glass absorbs ultraviolet (UV) light and re-emits it as visible green light, creating that signature glow.

I get asked a lot if I treat my copper to stop oxidation. The answer is "no".

Treatments are mostly temporary, can cause reactions on the skin, and can often lead to faster oxidation. I allow my copper to age naturally to allow for a variety of tastes. Some customers prefer shiny and polished, some love the rich patina that forms on the hammered and milled pieces, and I would prefer to have something for everyone.

Your copper can always be refreshed with a Sunshine Cloth, or you can coat the inside with clear nail polish or lacquer to stop the "greening". But remember that copper oxidizes to protect itself from you. And so does silver for that matter, but commercial silver jewelry is usually plated in rhodium. The sterling I have on hand is also not treated.

Care for your jewelry starts with you: by keeping it clean and dry. Don't shower or swim with copper or unplated silver if you want to maintain the shine, but don't be afraid to let it oxidize a bit. You may find you love it. ❤️
