Claywire: pressed by Leah Handmade rings, pendants and earrings by local artisan, Leah Kragh. Hello there, I'm Leah and I am from upstate New York- New Paltz, if you've heard of it.

I have been "creating" in one way or another for my entire life, but always through different outlets. Growing up, I took ceramics classes and ever since then I've loved getting my hands dirty using clay and paint. Only within the past year, moving to Brooklyn -where I had to function with a small work space-have I found a knack for combining my love of jewelry with ceramics. I started with making earrings out of clay and pressing found objects and random metal pieces into the clay for decoration. This vision has also led me to crafting pendants from clay, as well as rings out of various metal wires, beads, buttons, stones and shells. I find great inspiration in outdoor activity such as biking, hiking, being near (on in) the water and even walking in the park. With the endless encouragement from family/friends and loved ones I continue to feel the creative juices flow and thus keep my mind opened to unique new designs. We'll see what pops up next.
