Two weeks late, but this trip was way too good not to share. 🖤

Denver ended up being a little bit of work, a little bit of vacation, and a much-needed chance for Katy and me to get away together.

We squeezed in some pre-show relaxation in Manitou Springs, caught up with friends, and had some date nights. Katy stayed for the first half of the trip before flying home to be with the kids, and flew in to help me finish out the show.

And somewhere along the way there was a giant inflatable dinosaur. Naturally. 🦕😂

Our longtime friend Laura hosted us and had friends over in the evenings, and one night we brought some of our jewelry finds back to price and organize. Of course, that quickly turned into a little show-and-tell with everyone.

A lot of work goes into these trips, but getting to mix in moments like these makes them pretty special.

And yes… there are LOTS of beautiful new pieces coming. 👀✨

If you’re shopping the Denver gem shows, come find The Mod Ant at the Denver Coliseum!

We’ve brought cases full of vintage and antique jewelry, sterling silver, gold, beads, chains, findings, vintage components, and all kinds of unusual pieces we’ve collected along the way.

We’re located on the UPPER CONCOURSE in BOOTH C21, near Portal 15.

📍 Denver Coliseum
4600 N Humboldt St
Denver, Colorado

One important note: we are inside the DENVER COLISEUM, not the National Western Complex across the street. There are shows happening in both areas, so double-check the building when you come looking for us!

We’ll be here through September 20.

Come wander through the booth, dig through the cases, and see what you can find. ❤️

Tomorrow is the day!

We spent the last week pulling together an incredible assortment of vintage inventory from our family’s warehouse here in Texas, and this video is just a small preview.

We’ll have vintage ceramic beads, metal stampings, natural coral, unusual cabochons and components, handmade glass rings, mother of pearl, abalone, vintage Hong Kong cameos, and many more treasures that have been tucked away for years.

We’re going live twice every day, Monday through Friday:

📅 July 27–31
☀️ 10 AM–1 PM CT
🌙 4–7 PM CT

That’s 10 live shows in five days, giving everyone more opportunities to join us. Grab a drink, settle in, and come treasure hunting with us. We’ll see you tomorrow!

We’re heading back to Texas, and Katy needs your help building the shopping list!

Katy will be inside the warehouse July 19–22 pulling merch for our upcoming live shows. Since the Texas warehouse is much too hot to livestream from during the summer, we’ll bring everything she finds to a nearby air-conditioned Airbnb.

We’ll be live twice a day for five days—10 livestreams altogether!

JULY 27–31
Morning session: 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Central Time
Evening session: 4–7 p.m. Central Time

Katy can search for Czech, German, Japanese and Indian glass beads, African trade beads, seed beads, UV glass, Lucite and Bakelite, wood and stone beads, coral, shell, mother-of-pearl, rhinestones, crystals, cabochons, chain, religious pieces, vintage charms, metal parts, stampings, filigree, settings, findings, buttons, brooches, costume jewelry, repurposing lots and all kinds of rare or forgotten warehouse finds.

Tell us what you want her to pull! The more specific you are about colors, materials, countries or styles, the easier it will be for Katy to hunt for exactly what you’re hoping to see. You can leave your requests below or send us a message.

Part three of the lapis pendant is finished, and I learned quite a bit while putting this video together.

The first two parts were mostly improvised as I worked, but for this one I spent more time thinking through what I wanted to explain, writing out portions of it, and editing the video so everything would come across more clearly and cohesively.

There was definitely a learning curve in figuring out how to follow a script without sounding too scripted, but once I started changing the wording and making it sound more like the way I naturally speak, it came together much better.

I also added a little Easter egg from my youth in the background music. It’s a very ethereal, space-like feel that seemed to fit the pendant perfectly. I’m curious whether anyone recognizes it.

Thank you for following along with both the pendant and my attempt at learning how to make better tutorial videos. I’ll be sharing the finished piece after it has been polished and sealed.

Here is part two of the process, and this is where the piece really starts to come together.

In this section, I’m filling the woven electrical wire with solder so it becomes embedded into the frame. The goal is to make the wire feel like an intentional part of the structure rather than something simply wrapped around the outside.

I’m really happy with how it is progressing so far. Part three is already finished, and I’ll be sharing that next so you can see the next stage of the transformation.

I’m trying something a little different today and sharing what may be my first real tutorial-style video. I usually show you the finished pieces, but I thought it would be fun to bring you into the process and show how something like this begins to come together.

This piece still has a long way to go, so I’ll continue sharing updates as I work through it. I’m excited to see where it ends up, and I’d love to know whether you enjoy seeing more of the behind-the-scenes process.
