Thanks so much to everyone who came to our first open studio! I really wasn’t anticipating so many people showing up or how enthusiastic they would all be about this special space but it really drove home to me how much Tucson needs spaces like this and how valuable the Warehouse Arts District is to our community.
Showing art is vulnerable and scary for me, I get anxious every time but I also feel like my life’s purpose is in exposing people to work that has a direct effect mentally. It’s very validating to have so many people show up for that experience.
We are looking forward to doing this again soon so stay tuned for our next opening and feel free to reach out if you would like to make an appointment for some one on one time in the show room.

Having an open studio night with the best of the best, Stephen Abate
If you’ve been wanting to come see the space now is your chance, this Friday we will be showing work and having a sip from 4pm-8pm. Steve will have lighting and other home decor pieces and I will have paintings and tote bags available.
Our new neighbors Colescott/Watts Gallery will also be hosting a show and we are very excited to give them a warm welcome to our very unique building.

I have hand painted many beautiful tote bags that are perfect for the beach, the pool, a picnic, an over night excursion that absolutely no one needs to know about, etc!
All of them have been throughly road tested on the fine beaches of Jalisco and I can solidly say they are ready for any adventure you may take them on. They are all machine washable and have interior zipper pockets for money or secrets and most of them have top zippers as well.

Finally it is done and I wish I could say no longer feel pinned between two very dangerous animals but that’s just not the reward I will be reaping today.

One spell does not break another and one painting does not break the artist even when it feels like it will. No matter how many ways you ask for it.

I am still in the running for ! I have until the end of the today to make it into the top 10 (!!!) and I still can’t even believe I made this far, I’m still shocked I got into the contest in the first place. Thank you to everyone who has already voted for me and especially thank you to everyone who has continued to vote 🙏🏻
A few notes about this process:

1. You can vote more than once! The link for voting is in my profile.

2. You can purchase extra votes, the money from those purchases does go to a charity which does many things, among them being bringing art and art related activities to children with terminal illnesses.
So while it does feel a little weird to encourage people to buy votes the money is going to good causes.
