So weird and super cool! Would you wear this?
Nearly 2,000 years ago, someone on Peru’s north coast wore this gold ornament hanging from their nasal septum.
Made by the Salinar culture between 100 BCE and 200 CE, it features four delicate spiders formed from gold sheet and wire, surrounded by a tiny web of metalwork.
In ancient Andean art, spiders were linked to power, warfare, ritual sacrifice, and fertility — making this much more than jewelry.
