✨ Gettysburg has a way of sharing its history ✨

While curating, I recently found and couldn’t walk away without this incredible collection of Civil War-style “fancy work.”

While these are beautifully preserved modern recreations rather than mid-19th-century antiques, they carry all the charm and craftsmanship of the 1860s.

Finding these in Gettysburg feels right, you can almost imagine them being worn at an encampment or a local social.

From the heavy, textured charcoal mantle to the delicate rose-colored ribbon capelet, each piece is a stunning example of the “slow fashion” that reenactors have perfected.

The Haul:

• The Charcoal Mantle: Thick, structured crochet with a classic metal clasp.

• The Rose Capelet: Intricate open-work with ribbon detailing.

• The Peach Fichu:

A fringed staple for any civilian impression.

• The Floral Set:

Period-style skirts and chemises that complete the look.
