Good morning! Y’all we are struggling…like badly!

I didn’t wanna go here, but we are here. There have been so many posts of struggling businesses the last several months. We are now one of them in this club. Between raging wildfires and political unease, reaching out for support right now feels crappy. But we want to make it through this hard time and be a place that continues to provide happiness! We hear people say how much fun they have coming into the shop and this gives us hope. And when talking with other business owners, it seems like it’s not just us.

I know that money is tight for so many people right now. If you are able, consider placing an order with us this month or stopping in the shops! Even if it’s just a card, it all adds up. I truly believe that we are going to pull through, but I can’t just keep pretending that everything is OK. We are averaging maybe about $200 a day at the shops. This does not cover payroll or rent or merchandise costs or insurance or all of the other things needed to run the business. There are nine employees in this business. Small business is so difficult and there are ups and downs. I haven’t taken a profit in over a year. I am truly here right now for the community and for the hope of a better future.

So many people have helped this business continue and we are forever grateful for you. But we honestly need you right now! We just need to get through another month and Spring is on the horizon.

Whether you are in need of a baby gift, Valentine’s Day present, birthday present, or just some self-care for yourself, we have you covered! We buy from over 200 small brands and we would love nothing more than to place orders with them!

I know a lot of you have been watching the brand throughout the years, and I will not stop fighting to keep going! I love this business so much and the community that it has built. But we need you right now! Thank you 🙏

Ask anyone that knows me if I’m a feminist, and they will likely say yes! I am proud of being a woman and proud of all that women accomplish present and past. We have made many strides, but still have a long way to go to true equality around the world. This year for I asked my employees to provide one of their favorite female public role models. It was a really fun conversation and I’m inspired by the responses. If you come into our shops in DC and VA, you will see our nod to women in every corner of the store. We celebrate you today ladies, but we live this everyday!👏
