OUR HISTORY

Designer, CEO and change maker, Maria Elena Guzman founded Milena Guro designs in 2016 with a simple desire to breath life into her designs and promote the beautiful craftsmanship of her native Peru. With little capital, a strong will to persevere, and her family background in traditional crafts, Milena Guro began with door-to-door sales. Founded on environmentally-friendly extraction

and production practice with strong emphasize on fair compensation to all Milena Guro craftsmen, Maria attributes much or her successes to her forward-thinking operation. Milena Guro has created numerous one-of-a-king collections of jewelry with precious Andean gems inspired in traditional styles winning various international awards for preserving and promoting indigenous craftsmanship. In 2019, Milena Guro designs began its efforts to organize and empower indigenous craftsmen from Latin America across all trades through partnerships and mentorship opportunities as a part of a larger initiative to preserve and celebrate our cultural treasures.
