Golden Hills Turquoise is from Eastern Kazakhstan Alton-Tyube mine ( meaning golden hill in Kazakh ) I purchased this lovely stone from Jeremiah Loui Lapidary at the Portland Mineral and Gem Show in April.
I have been merging my work more with wax, carving the ring in wax and casting in metal, then when it comes back I solder the bezel cup for the stone to sit. I love the combination and have been having fun diving into this realm, where I am experimenting with ideas and interesting ring shapes, more signet style and chunky, intentionally grounding, forever kinda ring. When I wear dense jewelry I feel so connected to the earth and grounded, the softness of the silver after finishing is so soothing to me.
I hope that these pieces are as exciting for you as they are for me. They will all be debuting in person at the show i am doing this weekend Saturday, at Two Sisters in Maine Sweet Meadow Weddings & Events from 10-3 ❕
I also just added this to my shop… go check it out, I am totally inlove with this one.
