A Mother’s Day Message from Melissa…
Mother’s Day has always carried so many layers of meaning for me.
For 14 years, I’ve poured my heart into designing golden keepsakes that hold the people, memories, and moments we never want to let go of. But the greatest privilege of my life has never been the lockets themselves.
It’s been motherhood.
Being a mother to my daughter and sons has shaped every part of who I am. Watching my daughter join my business a year and a half ago has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. Not just building something together, but showing all of my children what it means to love deeply, nurture fully, pursue your passions, remain true to yourself and remain devoted to friends and family. It’s certainly not a feat I accomplish all the time, but I love the fullness of the journey.
And behind all of it is my husband of thirty years, who has given me the space, encouragement, and belief to bring meaningful keepsakes to people all over the world.
Along this journey, I’ve also had the privilege of meeting women and men who share their stories with me. Stories of mothers they miss, new babies and children they adore, marriages that have endured decades, losses that still ache, and moments they carry close to their hearts. It’s the circle of life, and I am grateful to be a witness to it all.
Our jewelry is stunning, warmly golden with sparkles of diamonds. And still, at Devon Woodhill, I never lose sight of the fact that the piece itself is only the vessel. What truly matters are the stories, the love, the memory, the connection inside of it.
Today, my heart also belongs to my mother, my inspiration for all things of beauty and quality, whom I lost in 2019 and miss every day. And it also belongs to my Mom-Mom, who wore a locket with my photo tucked inside, making me feel cherished beyond words. Like sunshine personified.
This work has never just been about jewelry. It’s about love that stays close to the heart. Always. 🤍
