Here's another one I put together yesterday. Keokuk chert and a deer bone handle. This one is a bit different with a socket style hafting method. I think it could withstand heavier use than the dagger from yesterday

I went down the road and gathered up some deer bones earlier this week. There was a dead deer and nature cleaned them up pretty fast! A little bleach, peroxide, and paint and this handle was ready to go! The blade is the finished point from the demonstration. Available

I made this little corner notch out of some self collected chert out of Back Creek. It was a pretty small piece to begin with but the quality was there so there weren't any wasted hits. This one is probably going in my keeper case

One of the most rewarding aspects of flintknapping is finding your own rock. We have a limited quantity of chert in this area of WV but if you look hard enough, there are some goodies in the creeks. Made this small blade yesterday evening in between storms. I'm thinking bone or antler for the handle. I'm starting to run low on rock so I'll need to re-up soon

I found some deer bones a couple months ago and the skull was intact
I saw a couple examples of using the jawbone as a handle and gave it a try. Its definitely more on the decorative side but it could withstand light use
