There are several things I have learned about crafting in all my crafting years:
There are no rules. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re doing it wrong, what doesn’t work for someone else may work for you so give it a try.
Do what makes you happy. You are in charge of your own happiness no one else so if like painting, do it. If you like stickers, use them.
Everything is a craft supply until proven otherwise. I was taught this from Pam at the Paper Outpost and it is so true. A cardboard box can become a journal cover, a paper bag can become faux leather. Just use your imagination.
Don’t feel you have invest in all the expensive gadgets to craft. A pair of scissors, a ruler, pencil and glue are your most valuable things.
Only buy what you know you will use, then use it. Don’t buy something just because everyone else is buying it or someone says you have to. It will just sit there taking up valuable space in your crafting area and is a waste of money you can use for what you really want.
Buy your basic supplies in twos such as your glue, tape, etc. when you open you last one then order more. This way you will have it on hand, won’t run out and it’s easier to store just those few rather than a case.
Don’t feel bad if you are constantly changing your crafting space. Nothing in life stays the same so why does your space have to. If something isn’t working out change it until it works for you now.
I hope these tidbits help. If you have things that you’ve learned, please add them in the comments section below.
Happy crafting everyone!!
