Scorched: Wood Burnings by Erin

09/28/2022

Hello! I know I've been away for a while- I apologize for that. In May 2021, I gave birth to our son, who ended up having some medical issues that I had to focus on (he's all good!).
🌿
The following September, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. I'm now a year out from diagnosis, and I'm still having issues- including arthritis in my hands. Because of this, I can no longer hold my pen in order to burn.
🌿
This past summer, I started Midsummer Mama! This way, I'm still able to create and do what I love, but in a way that doesn't cause (too) much pain.
🌿
Hopefully with further treatment, I'll eventually be able to get back to burning 🤞. But for now, would you all do me a huge favor and head over to my new pages and show it some love? Starting over is tough!
🌿
Here's a little of what I've been doing, and I'll post links below! Thank you 💗

Afternoon! It's been a while since my last post... the world has gotten a little crazy since then!
⭐
This was one of the more creative orders I've received! There are hole in each corner for the rope to go in, because it's a swing!! The 5th year of marriage gift is wood, making this the cutest anniversary gift!
⭐
I was able to hide the Ta**us and Pisces constellation within the stars. Can you find them?

You know what's awesome? Kicking cancer's ass not once, but TWICE! What's not awesome? The bills that pile up.

When kiddo wants to play legos, but you've got work to do 👌
🌿
SN, I died a little each time A said "oooohhh, aaahhhh" as she watched me burn 😍

Have I mentioned that I LOVE doing handwriting orders?! This is for sweet Dylan's nursery 🤗.
🌿
Have a baby shower coming up or know someone who's expecting? These make for beautiful, one of a kind gifts that the family will treasure.

It's been a while since I've done a process post, so I thought I'd share!
🌿
I trace everything on to tissue paper, then go over the tracing with a fine tipped sharpie. By the time I burn the outline, I've already traced it 2 times, which is great for muscle memory!

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone had a great holiday season 🥰. This year, I took a little time for family, friends, and home reno.
🔨
Little fun fact about me is that I LOVE a good DIY home reno project! We took full advantage of the down time to knock this out! Swipe for closer pics and the before 😱.
🔨
What was your favorite part of this holiday season? Any fun projects?!

This was such a special piece to create 💗. We took hand writing samples from 3 different cards to create one cohesive piece.
