The 2026 Boats and Bluegrass Festival gourdulele is READY and she sings like an angel. This gal was inspired by this years poster and the amazing view of the stage and will be raffled off at the festival to benefit the Rec Alliance in their effort to get an ADA ramp at the boat dock! Tickets will be sold Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the festival with the winner announced Saturday night! Come give her a play and buy some tickets to support a great cause and win this gal!!!

Every year I fret over whether the gourds will come. In the evenings I search the vines and think, I must have messed something up this year, only male flowers no fruits. Then, without fail and with enough time and patience, they appear. The gourds are luscious, bright green and so unique. I stare at them and just dream about their potential. The last pic is from about 9 years ago and shows how far the garden has come.

Meet Gertie, my newest thundergourd mostly made from a cross-pollinated penguin gourd grown in last summers crop. This piece is made from 4 different gourds, copper wire, kwikwood, thundergourd fixtures, hand painted silk and Beisanz stone. I adore her.
