My daughter, Merrit was telling Mama Faye about an assignment she had to do last week writing a poem and mama asked her to write one about Loki(who is the shop dog for those that don’t know)!
I think she nailed it. When Russ first got Loki, it appeared he had been mistreated and would cower down anytime anyone tried to pet him😢. Now he stays right under his daddy Russ.
I looked over a little while ago and saw Loki sitting right under him as he was turning pens, so I had to take his picture covered in shavings and share her poem. We need to get him his own face shield. 😂
Loki
You see the fear in his eyes,
when he's approached
or when you walk by.
His head tucked low, as he walks slow,
scared of hands that come too close.
He barks so loud trying to say
"do not come near, just stay away!
One day his world turned around,
so now he can sleep safe and sound.
And when you stop to pet him slow,
he does not run or try to go.
His head untucked and looking at you,
with eyes that say " I trust you"
He stays very close to the people he knows, with love and trust that slowly grows.
After a past of endless strife,
he can run with happiness,
living his best life.
