The spotlight this Monday is the Legendary Morgan Silver Dollar!
First minted in 1878 and designed by engraver George T. Morgan, these cons are some of the most collected and recognizable silver dollars in American History!

The Morgan Silver dollar is made of 90% silver, and 10% copper, with each coin containing .7734 Troy ounces of pure silver. They were minted from 1878-1904 and then again for one final year in 1921.

FUN FACTS:
- These coins were minted in Philadelphia, New Orleans, Carson City, San Francisco, and Denver.

- Carson City Morgan Dollars, marked with a "CC" mint mark are
often the most valuable!

- These coins are counterfeited, and have been for many years, with examples being almost impossible to the naked eye to tell the difference.
